Chetan Bhagat received the tag as the “Best Selling Novelist” with his fourth book “Two States”. From the very beginning he has tried to give something new to his avid readers. He has an articulate style of writing which is clean and crispy. His thoughts are so declamatory that it become readable and worded for the readers to understand in an instant. From 5 Point Someone to 2 States, Chetan Bhagat has presented a clear picture of an Indian life. His exaggeration to make his books spicy was grandiloquent. This tactic really grabbed the attention of the younger generation. Besides adding excitement to the mind of the reader, Chetan has also tried to convey messages to understand what is prevailing in the world.
The story line of Five Point Someone speaks about the harsh rules and regulations existing in Engineering colleges. Chetan expressed his entire experience that he had in the technical college in an epigrammatic manner. Anyone can imagine himself in the three character role of Hari, Ryan and Alok as mentioned by him. Chetan Bhagat in the true sense has made a mockery of the educational system. The system which eats two to three students every year due to its austereness is exactly what he wanted to reveal. Chetan gives a clear vista of the prevailing system as well as reveals his first love with his professor’s daughter. The book engrossingly takes you to his world of love, romance and exam tension. Recently a movie called”3 Idiots” had released with 75% ideas of the book. Although it led to a big controversy, but it hardly mattered to the audience and the readers. At the end it is a good story which makes no negative impact
In 2005 came One night @ call center, a complete dramatic story of six employees working in a call center. This story revolves around these characters who express their sorrows and woes. Despite all the miseries they go through, just one call from God changes their entire setup of life. A movie with the name “Hello” was inspired by it. However it could not meet the expectations of the audience and the readers. Finally, the characters could not well perform their roles thus making the story a big time failure.
